Dr Pritha Das
Senior Research Fellow of Neuroimaging

Dr Pritha Das is a Senior Research Fellow of Neuroimaging in the Discipline of Psychiatry and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at Royal North Shore Hospital. She completed her PhD in Applied Mathematics in 1999 from the University of New South Wales and has since gained extensive experience in the analysis of functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data using several sophisticated software packages. Her research has afforded her the opportunity to pursue her longstanding interest in how dysfunctional neural networks give rise to psychiatric disorders. Dr Das is committed to translational research. In recent years her research has focused on understanding the neurobiological mechanisms behind affective signs and symptoms as precursors of mood disorders in adolescence. Her interest also lies in identifying a brain signature underlying suicidal ideation and behaviours in patients with mood disorders and this will ultimately allow the detection of patients at high risk and inform the development of targeted prevention.

Dr Zola Mannie
Postdoctoral Senior Research Officer

Since moving from the UK in 2017, I have been a Senior Research Officer at the CADE Clinic. I have a PhD in Psychology from the UK. My research interests primarily lie in investigating vulnerability to mood disorders with neurobiological, clinical and neuropsychological assessment tools to elucidate underpinning mechanisms. In recent years my focus has turned towards resilience from a mechanistic perspective, integrating neurobiological, neurocognitive and psychosocial modes of investigation.

Dr Tim Outhred
Research Fellow

Tim is researching the role of neurocognition in psychiatric disorder and its treatment. His aim is to elucidate the cognitive neuropsychological mechanisms underlying mood disorders and treatment response, which will form the foundation of new methods for early prediction of treatment response. Currently, Tim is undertaking projects to better understand the intersection between neurobiology and cognition, as well as to trial optimised clinical protocols for treatment in real-world practice.
